Headteacher's Welcome

Hello,

Welcome to the website of Blennerhasset School.

At Blennerhasset School, we have high expectations of behaviour and conduct. We encourage our pupils to give their best efforts at all times and to let their individual talents shine. Our values include Trust, Resilience, Hope, Respect and Community.

At Blennerhasset School, we consider one another part of a school community family and our dedicated, experienced and highly skilled staff team work hard to get to know each and every child so that we can support them to be the very best version of themselves in all areas.

Together we aim to;

  • Experience high quality education in nurturing learning environments inside and outdoors.
  • Give our best efforts in order to achieve our best outcomes.
  • Develop a lifelong enjoyment of learning through a rich and exciting curriculum that focuses on both skills and knowledge progression that is relevant to the needs and interests of everyone.
  • Become responsible citizens, able to respond appropriately to an ever-changing society with resilience, perseverance and positive mental health

We are a small and friendly, thriving school situated in rural Cumbria between Wigton and Aspatria. We have 70 children on roll from three to eleven years old and we offer a range of curriculum related after school clubs as well as childcare provision three nights per week (Mon, Wed and Fri from 3pm to 5:30pm)

We offer a staggered drop off and pick up each day (8:30am & 8:45am) for children in KS1 and KS2 and 9am for children in EYFS. Parents can then select their preferred drop off and pick up slot. Pick up times are 3pm and 3:15pm.

The children come straight into morning activities each day that are designed to practise and reinforce prior learning across core subjects such as phonics, reading, arithmetic, spelling and multiplication tables. The core hours for a child in KS1 or KS2 is 32.5 hours per week (8:45 am-3:15pm)

Please follow the links on our website to find out a little bit more about us. However, we would always recommend a visit to the school in order to fully appreciate what we have to offer.

Kind Wishes,

Mrs Jillian Harrison-Longworth
