Aspatria Small Schools Partnership
Blennerhasset School is part of a cluster of small schools in the Wigton/Aspatria area. The headteachers, staff and children from each of the schools regularly meet to share good practice as well as to plan a variety of opportunities for the children to come together. One such event was an Eco Schools event looking at the environment, landscapes and culture and arts from around the world. The staff from the cluster schools meet regularly to moderate children’s work and to further develop teaching and learning across the schools. This academic year we are working together to develop beach school opportunities for the children in our schools as well as planning a range of culturally diverse learning opportunities for our children.
We also have links with schools in Lancashire and Northumberland.
Recently, through our Chair of Governors, we have developed a link with a French school in Montrodat and we are very excited to develop our relationship with the staff and children there. We are establishing links in the Gambia and Honduras too.
